Team
Descriptions
Every member is required to serve on a team within the group.
It takes
everyone doing their part to have an effective organization.
Yearbook /Tech Team
The Yearbook/ Tech team will be responsible for the
yearbook. The team members
will help plan, organize, put together for publishing, market, sell and
distribute a
yearbook of CHEER families and yearly activities. They will also organize,
oversee and
instruct the high school yearbook club, plan fun events for fundraisers, and
sell ads
and sponsorships to help keep the cost reasonable. This Team is also
responsible for
maintaining and monitoring our CHEER e-loop and website as well as keeping
the
CHEER calendar.
Communication Team
The Communication team will maintain consistent
communication within CHEER
internally through creating and updating the CHEER Roster throughout the
year, and
collecting information, articles, and putting together our monthly
newsletter. It will
also be responsible for outward communication such as Team T-shirt orders
and sales.
Collecting and distributing information on homeschool legislative alerts,
Capital Day,
Teen Pact will be part of this Teams job. And the team will also be
responsible for
collecting money, placing and handling orders for Scholastic Book Club,
God’s World
News Book Club and God’s World News weekly newspapers. The treasurer,
responsible
for collecting money from CHEER activities, membership, fundraising and any
other
events/items and maintaining all financial records and reports will be on
this Team as
well.
Elementary Team
The elementary team is responsible for providing
opportunities for elementary-age
children (5-11) to interact and learn together. The team is responsible to
plan
activities such as game night, library share day, park day and any other
activities to
help foster interacting among elementary children in CHEER. The team will
also
provide some separate activities for boys and girls.
Middle School Team (6th through 8th grade) Leader: Mary Sprouse mts3439@cox.net
The Jr. High team will be responsible for providing opportunities for Middle
school
children (6th-8th grade) to interact and develop friendships. The team is
responsible
to plan activities such as game nights, theme parties, service projects, or
any activity
that would promote interaction among MS aged students in CHEER. Activities
will be
planned separately for boys and girls.
CHEER Graduation Team
The Graduation Team will consist of moms who have
Seniors this year but will also
include one or two moms whose children will graduate in the following year.
The Team
will be responsible to plan meetings in order to distribute and carry out
necessary
jobs to have a successful graduation ceremony in May. Monthly meetings
dates, plus
graduation site and date will be voted on at the first meeting with the
intent to
accommodate every family. This team will also be responsible for planning
fun Senior
events throughout the year.
Middle School Team (6th through 8th grade)
The Jr. High team will be responsible for providing
opportunities for Middle School
children (6th - 8th grade) to interact and develop
friendships. The team is responsible
to plan activities such as game nights, theme
parties, service projects, or any activity
that would promote interaction among MS aged
students in CHEER. Activities will be
planned separately for boys and girls.
High School Team (9th through 12th grade)
The High School team is responsible for providing
opportunities for high school
students to interact and develop friendships. The team will plan activities
such as
game nights, theme parties, and several service projects each semester to
help
promote an outlook of serving in our community while fostering relationships
among
CHEER high school students. Activities may also be planned separately for
boys and
girls.
Meeting Team
The Meeting team will be responsible for coordinating
the meeting facilities. The
team will coordinate with the facility any items that need to be handled for
each
meeting, open the facility early for set-up, set-up and tear down any rooms
used
during the meeting.
Hospitality Team
The Hospitality team will coordinate refreshment
sign-ups, purchase cups, plates,
napkins etc, set up the refreshment area and clean up for each monthly
meeting.
The will arrive early and decorate as needed. The team will also be
available to
coordinate refreshments for other events as needed.
Membership Team
The membership team will be responsible for all items
relating to membership needs
of CHEER. This will include updating and handling the New Member packets and
creating and distributing membership cards used to obtain discounts at local
stores.
The team will also be responsible for creating individual permanent name
tags for
each member to be used at each Ladies meeting. The membership team will be
responsible for being at the new membership information table to pass out
new
member bags, visitor information cards, name tags and answer any questions.
Ministry Team
The ministry team will be responsible for meeting the
ministry needs of CHEER that
arise throughout the year. The ministry team will stay in touch with each
team
helping to coordinate meals to members having babies, illnesses, deaths, and
anything
that is deemed necessary. The ministry team provides prayer and
encouragement to
members throughout the year. The Team will also be responsible for
coordinating
Mom’s Night Out for special fellowship. And serve as greeters at the monthly
Moms
meetings and make the initial contact with those who have visited.
Service Project Team
This service project team will be responsible for
facilitating service projects for K-8th
grade throughout the year with families of CHEER. The service projects may
include
Meals on Wheels, Operations Christmas Child and any other projects that
would help
children learn to serve in the community.
Support to New Homeschoolers Team
This responsibility of this team is to help those who
are new to homeschooling through
various activities. The new-to-homeschooling team is responsible for
planning
activities to assist and fellowship with new homeschoolers such as
progressive dinners,
make and take game nights, ice cream socials and/or any activities that are
pertinent
to new homeschoolers. This team is also responsible to collect and assemble
packets
of information that are helpful to members who are new to homeschooling.
