For the first semester of this course we will be teaching creation science using the Answers in Genesis curriculum It All Begins with Genesis as a framework.  This expanded AiG curriculum focuses on the first 12 chapters of the book of Genesis, and teaches the students to study the Bible and find out for themselves what it says about their world.  We begin the class by learning about world views, and then learn the systematic inductive bible study method. As we move through the scripture, we hit many of the major areas of science (biology, astronomy, anthropology, geology, archeology, and paleontology) and talk about topics such as the age of the earth, creation of all things, the effect of the fall on creation, dinosaurs, flood mechanics, and the ice age.

For the second semester of this course we will teach general science using the Apologia General Science, 2nd edition textbook.  We will study the modules in the first half of the textbook.  Some of the topics include the scientific method, designing experiments, simple machines, archeology, geology, paleontology and the fossil record.  Textbook reading will be assigned each week for homework, and students will be expected to complete the reading before the next class period.  Review questions may also be assigned or some other exercise to show understanding of the material.  Class time will be spent discussing the material in each chapter and doing experiments.  Testing will not be done during class time.  If you would like to test your child, you may purchase the tests and answer booklet and test your child at home.

Supply fee covers notebooks and handouts, and some experiment supplies.
