WHO WE ARE:
CHEER is a Christ-centered, family-oriented homeschool support group that helps, supports, and encourages parent-led homeschooling families in the Tulsa area and surrounding areas. CHEER is affiliated with Homeschool Oklahoma (HSOK) and Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA). CHEER, HSOK, & HSLDA define the terms ‘home education,’ ‘home-schooling,’ and ‘homeschooling’ exclusively as the family-funded, home-based education and discipleship of children by their parents or guardians.
Students who are enrolled in Epic, K-12, or any other public/charter school are not eligible to participate in CHEER activities (except Family Events). HOWEVER, any of your students who are NOT enrolled in these programs ARE eligible to participate in our activities. We have families with multiple children who use various homeschooling styles. We are NOT opposed to other programs, nor are we against public or private school enrollment. We are a Pro-Education Choice support group. We understand each student is unique. As parents, we are commanded by God to "train up a child in the way they should go." (Proverbs 22:6) Our support group has a unique mission. We understand our purpose, and we strive to "stay in our lane!"
OUR GOAL:
Is to biblically encourage each other and to provide tools to help each family achieve excellence in their homeschool. We also aim to cultivate a Christ-like atmosphere of relationship-building and to equip members with Godly resources to help them succeed in their homeschooling.
WE OFFER:
- Monthly encouragement, resources, fellowship, or training during our Ladies Meeting or our Ladies Fellowships.
- Age-appropriate field trips, activities, community service projects, and fellowship opportunities for our students.
IN ADDITION, WE ALSO OFFER TO OUR QUALIFYING MEMBERS*:
- Co-op classes for Pre-K through 12th grade
- Senior Graduation Ceremony and support
* Qualifying member is defined as having been a CHEER member of good standing since October 31st of the previous school year.
